Survivor Voices

Your Story Matters. Your Voice Matters.

At Sally’s Safe Place, we believe that every survivor’s journey is unique, and every story has the power to inspire hope.

For many women and children & Men, Sally’s is more than a place to stay. It can be the first safe place they have experienced in a long time—a place to breathe, begin healing, rebuild confidence, and imagine a future free from violence.

This page is dedicated to the courageous survivors who have allowed us to share their experiences and the ways Sally’s has impacted their lives.

What Your Support Means to Young People

Sometimes something as simple as having new clothes for school can make a young person feel confident, included, and ready to learn. Through Sally’s school clothing program, children and youth in our community have received clothing, shoes, and other essentials when their families needed extra support.

These messages represent the kinds of experiences shared by young people who have received assistance through the program. Names and identifying details are not included to protect their privacy.

“I Felt Like I Fit In”

“Before I got my clothes, I was worried about what people at school would say because I didn't have very many clothes. When I got my new clothes and shoes, I felt really happy. I felt like I could go to school and fit in with everyone else. Thank you for helping me.”
